Meraki Shipping Joins the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles

Meraki Shipping DMCC is proud to announce that we have officially signed the United Nations Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs).

Founded and led by Ms. Lopa Sheth, Meraki Shipping believes that equality means business. By joining the WEPs community, we are strengthening our commitment to creating a workplace and industry where women and men are treated fairly, given equal opportunities, and supported to thrive.

The WEPs are a joint initiative of UN Women and the UN Global Compact, guiding companies on how to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment in the workplace, marketplace, and community.

This commitment reflects our vision to

  • Champion women’s leadership in the maritime sector
  • Foster inclusive, safe, and supportive workplaces
  • Drive sustainable growth aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

We are excited to be part of this global movement and to continue building a future where gender equality and empowerment are at the heart of business.
